Beyond the Midnight Hour
Well beyond the midnight hour as the rain fell gently, I stood beside the road waiting.
"Maybe all the taxis have gone home", I thought to myself.
But I was neither afraid nor concerned.
Because in that moment, caught in the middle of no and where on an island that the majority of Mankind has likely never even heard of, I simply could not think of anywhere else that I wanted to be.
The realization that I'm leaving soon has finally caught up to me.
One more week and my time here is done.
I will thoroughly enjoy every moment I have left.
But there will always be a part of me that wishes I could have stayed just a little bit longer...
From the letters,
joel
